McFarland

This story centers on a struggling coach and teacher who has had to move around for different incidents in his career. He moves to one of the poorest cities in America: McFarland, California where he discovers buried potential in several high school students with no hope and slowly turns them into championship runners. Despite their hurdles, they are able to cross the finish line and get to the pinnacle of success.

Lion King

JULY 29/30

A young lion prince is born in Africa, thus making his uncle Scar the second in line to the throne. Scar deceitfully plots to kill King Mufasa and Prince Simba to make himself King. The King is killed and Simba is led to believe by Scar that he is to blame and therefore leaves the kingdom in shame. After years of exile, Simba is persuaded to return home, take back his homeland from Scar and claim the kingdom as his own thus completing the “Circle of Life."
